What is Subluxation?

If you are like many people, you probably have trouble even pronouncing the word. So in it's simplest form, a subluxation is when one or more of the bones in your spine move out of position and causes pressure or irritation on a nerve or nerves and therefore interferes with proper nerve messages. In turn, your health is dependant on the uninterrupted connections of the thousands of nerve endings to the various organs and tissues in your body – so any hindrance causes a subluxation to occur.

Would you agree that the brain controls and coordinates all the functions of the body? This basically means that everything you do and everything your body does (whether you know about it or not) is controlled by your brain. The nerves to every part of your body deliver the signals, or instructions, from your brain. In order for your body to function properly, these signals from the brain must get to the various parts of your body without any interference, alteration, or change.

Another difficult thing to understand is that subluxations cause different problems in different people. The reality is that no two people with subluxation will have the same end results. It is also next to impossible to predict what types of health problems a person will get from subluxations. But one thing is certain; subluxations will create a health problem somewhere, sometime. The problem may not show up immediately, but eventually it shows up.

Why is Subluxation Important?

As a chiropractor, it's my job to find these subluxations and correct or reduce them as much as possible. So, ask yourself this very important question: "Is it critical to my health and well being to have my nervous system functioning without interference?” Of course it is.

The key is to be sure that you have a skillful examination and analysis to locate subluxations and institute an individually determined course of chiropractic care to restore your optimum health. Only by correcting these subluxations, will your body function more efficiently resulting in improvements in health on all levels – physically, mentally and emotionally.

Corrective Care Program

The first step for any chiropractic program begins with detailed questions we ask regarding your health history, family health history (yes, it's paperwork) and a detailed overview where your current health issues reside. Armed with the data you provide, my initial analysis will pinpoint target areas to be checked either by a hands-on exam, an x-ray – or both.

The one common goal we must share is getting you back to feeling your best. While your specific Corrective Care Program is unique, following through the Care guidelines we establish for you is a critical step in the success of your chiropractic program – and this success can be realized. But I can't emphasize enough that it's your determination and willingness to follow through, step-by-step that produces the best results.

There are many success stories to be told and I urge you to take the time to read through a few of our member's stories – in their own words. These testimonials can be accessed when you click here.
